Pentecost
( number of products: 33 )Pentecost chasubles are worn during the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. The primary liturgical colour for Pentecost is a rich, fiery red that symbolises the tongues of flame that descended upon the disciples, and royal gold. Red vestments are also present on other feasts of the Holy Spirit, the apostles, evangelists, and martyrs.
Pentecost Chasubles
Pentecost chasubles are made from quality liturgical fabrics (damask with velvet) that capture the brilliance of the Holy Spirit's arrival. The most distinctive feature of many designs is the dove motif that traditionally represents the Holy Spirit.
The decorations incorporate flames, doves, or wind symbols—all biblical representations of the Holy Spirit. Some models feature stylised rays emanating outward. Our collection includes Gothic chasubles with generous cut and Y-shaped orphreys, semi-Gothic and Roman chasubles.
Vestments for Pentecost
Our vestments for Pentecost come with a matching stole. This high-quality needlework on velvet creates an elegant contrast with the damask fabric of the main vestment. The typical measurements are 130 cm in length and 154 cm in width. Custom sizes are available on request.
Pentecost chasubles represent the priest's participation in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the Church. The tradition of special vestments for Pentecost gained prominence during the Counter-Reformation period. Today's designs continue this tradition.
